Jack
Saunders has been part of the Texas music scene
since his arrival in the Lone Star State during the late
1970s. Born in Southern California and raised in a military
family, Jack lived in a number of different states-from
Rhode Island to Alaska. While taking a break from the
frozen north, he ventured to Dallas, where he was impressed
by Texas music.
Following school he moved to Austin,
eventually winding up in Houston, where there was a thriving
music scene in the Montrose area. In Houston, Jack met
many singer-songwriters playing in local clubs-from John
Vandiver and Danny Everitt, to Shake Russell and Michael
Marcoulier-and he performed with these and other songwriters
on guitar and bass. Jack subsequently joined the art rock
group, Taxi Dancer, and formed his own band.
In 1982, Shake Russell, who had just
split with his longtime partner, Dana Cooper, offered
Jack a position playing bass and guitar in his band. The
band, which changed personnel many times, lasted 7 years
and produced several records. In 1990, Shake and Jack
released their first CD as a duo. From 1990-1996, they
released 4 CDs as a duo, and one with Dana Cooper as a
trio. These years provided Jack experience as a recording
artist and singer-songwriter, and were formative in teaching
him the recording studio techniques he would need as an
engineer and producer. In 1996, Jack and Shake parted
ways, and Jack released two CDs while traveling and fronting
his own band.
Since then, Jack has been very busy
as a producer and engineer in his Houston recording studio,
White Cat. Most recently, he has been dividing his time
between producing artists in the studio and playing his
own shows, along with backing up his singer-songwriter
friends-Ray Hubbard, Susan Gibson, Greg Trooper, Randy
Weeks, and Hayes Carll, to name a few. Jack continues
to have fun with a variety of different projects, including
his own. "Living for the Sunshine," Jack's third
CD, was released on March 30th, 2007.
Tommie
Lee Bradley
Texas is famous for its eclectic, blues-based rock-n-roll,
and Tommie Lee Bradley is one of its most notable exports.
She’s taken her critically acclaimed music to Japan,
with Soul Shock, to Canada, with Jean-Pierre Ferland and
Ginnette Reno, and throughout the United States, both
as a headliner and with acts such as Jim Messina. She’s
a stellar songwriter with tightly crafted, highly visual
lyrics. Her vocals are those of a soul drenched Southern
song stylist, able to make any song her own, no matter
who composed the material.
As a solo artist, she’s recorded
for Columbia (with Janis Joplin’s producer Paul
Rothchild at the studio helm) and PolyDor Records, and
her big, husky vocals have been heard on recordings by
artists including Harry Chapin, Joe Sample and Will Jennings.
Her big-screen credits include lead and background vocals
(under the musical direction of Grammy and Oscar winner
Johnny Mandel) on Stayin’ Alive,” starring
John Travolta, directed by Sylvester Stallone; “Lookin’
To Get Out,” starring Ann-Margaret and Jon Voight;
“Never Too Young To Die, “ starring John Stamos,
Vanity, and Gene Simmons; and under Tony Berg’s
direction on Robert Altman’s “A Perfect Couple,”
starring Paul Dooley (Grace Under Fire) and Ted Neely
(Jesus Christ Superstar.) Altman was so impressed with
her, he also cast her in a featured role in the film.
The Houston Native began singing
as a child, rapidly moving from soulful country and gospel
to blues, jazz, and rock. It didn’t take long until
name acts such as REO Speedwagon were aware of her talent
and approached her about singing on recording projects.
She went on to not only becoming an acclaimed singing
star, but an actress as well. She was featured in American
Musical Theatre’s productions of “A Little
Night Music,” “The Taffetas,” and “Beehive,
The Sixties Musical.” Her starring role in “Always
Patsy Cline” won coast-to-coast critical raves.
“The show’s strongest element is Bradley’s
singing,” wrote Houston Chronicle reviewer Everett
Evans.
Having recently released her latest
solo album “Soul Soup”, Tommie Lee is currently
performing her original music with local bands, as well
as singing with the Richard Brown Orchestra. She has showcased
at the Grand Teton Music Festival in Jackson Hole, Wyoming
for the last five years, and while vacationing in Stockholm
Sweden recently, she performed at the oldest pub in the
world, founded in 1722, the Den Gyldene Freden pub.
Her greatest enjoyment, however,
comes with spending time with her mom and husband and
their eight rescued puppy and kitty children.

Donald
Wayne Glenn aka Jabo better known as the “Texas
Prince of Zydeco” was born on October 1, 1954 in
Humble, Texas. He started singing and playing drums at
the age of 8 and like most artists was deeply rooted in
the church. As a young man he was exposed to different
types and genres of music, by his early teens he was performing
the Blues and later started playing Zydeco in his early
thirties. He was inspired and influenced by such greats
as Joe Simon, Boo Zoo Chavis; Rockin’ Sidney; Clifton
Chenier; Bobby Blue Bland; B.B. King and a host of others.
Jabo has endured many ups and downs
in his musical career, but he has never given up on his
dream of being a success. Undeniably, his unique style
of Blues and Zydeco has made him one of the most sought
after performers of today. The self proclaimed “Texas
Prince of Zydeco” is among the Houston area’s
most prominent and contemporary performers. A bluesman
whose affection for Zydeco inspired him to fuse the two
along with his own accordion sounds bluesy resulting in
such an intriguing sound. In 1988 he released his first
single on Maison De Soul record label and in 1990 released
his first album titled “Texas Prince of Zydeco”
which can still be purchased today on Amazon.com.
Jabo has created quite a name for himself
in the music industry; he has been featured on the cover
of the Texas Monthly along with having articles written
on him by the Houston Chronicle and other Zydeco and Blues
magazines. In 1988, while working on a project he met
and later teamed up musical great Calvin Owens and has
been featured on several of his albums. He has also performed
and has been an opening act for such legendary artists
as Rue Davis; Bobby Blue Bland; Rockin Sidney; Johnnie
Taylor; Tyrone Davis and many othes.
He took an 8 year hiatus from 1996 to
2004 but in 2005 he came back stronger than ever released
a new album titled “Zydeco Around the Town”
which was greatly received by his long awaiting fans.
In October and November 2007 the single titled “You
Didn’t Hurt Me” written by Rue Davis and performed
with the Calvin Owen Orchestra Band hit 4 on the music
charts.
Today Jabo continues to overwhelm audiences,
the size of the crowd doesn’t matter, whether it
is in a club atmosphere or large auditorium audiences
are captivated by his high energy and dynamic stage presence
along with his powerful mixture of Blues and Zydeco. When
asked how he would like to be remember? His answer was
first as a man of God who is humble, has a spiritual nature
and one who truly appreciates and loves his fans.
The
Lost Boys were born in Hollywood... no, not on
the Big Screen (but good guess!) They are part of a movement
from Hollywood Boulevard to Santa Monica bringing a sweeping
80s revival which has been brewing for the past five years
across Southern California.
The Lost Boys were originally called
"The Knight Riders," but after a bitter dispute
over Peter Pan, the band decided "The Lost Boys"
would be a more appropriate name. It stuck. And the rest,
as they say, is history... (or will be, whenever "Behind
The Music" comes out.)
LA bands such as Metal Skool, The
M-80s, The Atomic Punks, Fast Times, Valley Dolls, and
Beat It have been gaining popularity and strength not
just among traditional 80s fans but with a whole new generation
of young, late teen fans, too. Simply put, the 80s are
back. And in a very big way! (What can we say? We don't
want to grow up... we're all Toys 'R Us kids.)
With crowded dance floors & screaming
chicks (who cares about the dudes?) many clubs are throwing
80s theme nights. And the 80s aren't just for average
joes...
On any given night, A-list celebrities can be found basking
in the 80s glow of nostalgic hits and unforgettable fashions.
(Yes, that includes Pam Anderson... Britney Spears, Kelly
Clarkson, and Shannon Elizabeth, to drop a few names.)
From the Strip to Westwood, the 80s aren't just being
remembered... they're being reborn every night.
And now The Lost Boys have rolled
into H-town. Renee lives for the 80s, Andrew
doesn't even want to think about life without the 80s
(afterall, is there such a thing?) With a name like Jason
(and being a Friday the 13th fan), how could our beloved
bass player think of anything but the 80s? Mando is stuck
back there, too. And Mike has done his part professionally
to keep the 80s alive.
Producing a special "Back To
The Eighties" tribute in 2002, he brought the original
band Berlin to Houston to perform on the show. And in
1999, he co-produced the reunion concert of The Go-Go's
live from NYC. (yes, Belinda Carlisle fell in love with
him... how could she resist?) And now, we bring you...
The Lost Boys!
